carbon Footprint Nunivak´s Proyect

MISION

In La Posta del Águila, we aim at reducing our own Carbon footprint, cultivating, giving added value to our products, and commercializing no- perishable agricultural and forestry products for exportation by innovating technology so as to continuously improve our quality and productivity.

In order to meet worldwide markets needs, we aim at issuing carbon bonds based on the carbon dioxide tons kept in a year so as to get not only a competitive yield but also personnel and community development.

La Posta del Águila has an efficient design to control and manage soil humidity, to allow plants to have a huge amount of light, to favor flowering, production, and adequate ventilation. These are benefits that are translated into a reduced use of pesticides.

GOVERNAMENTAL SUPPORT

The government of Córdoba – Argentina- enacted the FOREST LAW 8066 and amendments on forest development and adequate forest industry integration.

This law and, in especial, the articles 58º and 61 states that within the General Provincial Budget, the Government should assign an amount of money intended to develop forest activity, provide technical assistance to private companies, to finance research plan, to provide training , and to implement and equip a Provincial Forestry Organization .

Order 641 of 6/ 24/05 “Provincial Plan on Forestry development”. FOREST Law.

In an attempt to support the initiatives related to the Bamboo project, Argentina has recently signed with China an understanding protocol on many subjects, one of which is related to the bamboo project, thereby creating the bamboo forum under resolution 866 of 2005 issued by the National Secretary of Farming, livestock and fishery.

Bamboo Characteristics

Bamboo grows differently from other trees.
Trees take a long time to grow since when a tree grows it creates growth rings as new wood is laid down concentrically over the old wood.

These growth rings are known as annual rings and therefore, they rings can be counted to determine the age of the tree. However, the bamboo grows faster than trees as it comes out of the ground as "canes" which expand as telescopes.
Some species of Bamboo can grow as much as 1 meter a day when they become an adult plant while others can reach their total height in less than three months.
Bamboos canes first “grow” up to its normal size, which is different in all species, and then they become adult plants.
